It's the time of year when we talk to a lot of brides who are in the process of planning their weddings. What a special day. The culmination of all those dreams and all that planning. We have photographed more then 600 weddings during my career and I love them. I love the excitement, I love all of the happy people, I love to see all the nerves and apprehension.
If I had one piece of advice to give a bride about photography it would be to choose your photographer carefully. Choose someone who shares your vision as to what your wedding photographs ought to look like. I have always thought that a balance between candid and posed photographs was the best way to tell the story. We all love the look of those spontaneous moments that make such wonderful photographs. But we also need to have those posed family and friend photos that also help to tell the story. As in most things balance is the key.
