It's Not Too Late for Senior Portraits

Seniors...school may be starting but we are not even close to being finished with Senior Portraits. Starting next week we will be scheduling early evening appointments during the week so you can come in after school, and of course we photograph seniors all day on Saturdays...you have some time left to make those yearbook deadlines, but don't wait too long.

What is a Senior Sitting

Senior sittings at our studio are fun and unrushed. While we photograph lots of seniors we are careful to give each one the time they deserve. You can bring several changes of clothes with you and then we can help you decide which ones would look best in the studio or outside or next door at The Major Long House. While in the studio we have a number of different looks, from our new wood floor, to our stairway, and of course our windowlit area. From close-ups to full length we have  many variations in our shooting room. We have put together a professional lighting system in our shooting room that gives our portraits a distinctive look. Then its over to The Major Long House, our 1846 antebellum house with the incredible wood floors and period furniture and decorations. There we can photograph you in any of the rooms and give each one a distinct look, or move to the back porch with the weeping willow tree as our background.  Now if that weren't enough we can move outside, to the pergola that separates the studio from The Major Long House or perhaps the lawn between the buildings, or the bench, or the arbor, or the front porch of The Wynn House, or one block to the court square. Whew...that's a typical senior sitting..and that is with no shooting or location charge.

Our 2012 Senior Portrait Mailer is out. It includes some of our favorite images from last years seniors. We don't recruit "models" to use in our promotions. We have always felt that each one of our seniors is special and just as important as any other. Each one of you is unique and deserves to be treated so.  While I wish we could include images from each of our seniors from last year, the card would be the size of a billboard and the Post Office frowns on that. So we have chosen a group that represents what we do with each and every one of our seniors.

If you  book your appointment for the month of June you will receive our Senior Video, on your own jump drive, at no charge (normally $65.00) and a free 48 wallets (normally $39.50). That's a savings of over $100.00. You will also receive each image you order from to use on your Facebook page, PLUS the images we choose to put on the studio's Facebook page.

It's almost spring and so it is time for "Portraits In The Park". Last spring we offered three parks to choose from....but everyone wanted Temple Avenue. This year we will take requests. If you have an idea just let me know....

Valentines Day and Weddings

The two most popular times for a guy to propose to his girlfriend is Christmas and Valentines Day. This is the time when we book most of our weddings for the year. We have a lot of experience at weddings. On the opening page of my website it mentions "For over 600 Brides". In the past few years a lot of people have decided they are wedding photographers, not because of their training, but because they bought a digital camera and some of their friends and family have told them they have talent. I am sure some do have talent. But talent alone does not make successful wedding photographs. Experience and planning must go along with that talent in order to make those gorgeous wedding photographs that brides desire. Remember, after the wedding is over, the food and cake have been eaten, the flowers have wilted and the dress is preserved, only the photographs remain. I'm over winter

After 3 days at home I went to the studio today, we are beginning some interior renovations, and the carpenter began today. I spent most of the day trying to make it possible to enter the studio without slipping down my front steps. I really don't like the ice......although it does make pretty pictures.
